The Length Gauge (SKU JA-SAAFT-9875) is used to determine the elongation index of coarse aggregate by checking the length of individual particles against gauge slots. Elongated and flaky aggregates lower the workability of concrete and may affect its long-term durability, and in bituminous mixes they give a harsh mix that can crack and break up during rolling. The companion thickness gauge is used for the flakiness index. It is supplied by JaincoLab for civil engineering and highway laboratories.
