The Accelerated Polishing Machine (SKU JA-SAAFT-9869) polishes road aggregate specimens under controlled conditions so that their resistance to polishing by traffic can be assessed. Specimens made in accurately machined, matched moulds are fixed to a road wheel turning at 315 to 325 rpm under a load of 715 to 735 N, with corn emery and then flour emery fed at set rates with water. Used water and abrasive collect in a large removable tray. It is supplied by JaincoLab for highway and civil engineering laboratories.
