The Laboratory Permeability Apparatus (SKU JA-ST-9813) measures the coefficient of permeability of soil directly in a permeameter. Permeability governs how fast saturated compressible layers settle and how fast water moves through an aquifer, and a direct test on a small specimen is quicker and more reliable than estimating it from particle size or consolidation data.
