Load Frames
Product Code : JA-ST-9817
Load Frames (SKU JA-ST-9817) apply the compression and penetration loads needed in soil tests such as unconfined compression, triaxial shear and California bearing ratio. Load is applied by advancing a lead screw that a sliding key keeps from rotating, and it is measured with a proving ring or a load cell. Designs run from electro-mechanical to microprocessor-controlled frames, manual or electrically driven, with a range of capacities and travel speeds.

Scope of supply and ordering
Give the test, specimen size, capacity and speed of travel needed, and whether manual or motorised operation is wanted; the frame is quoted to match. Order quantity, packing and delivery time are set out on each quotation.
Frequently asked questions
How does the frame apply load?
A lead screw, secured against rotation by a sliding key, advances to apply the load to the specimen.
How is the load measured?
With a proving ring or a load cell, depending on the frame chosen.
Which tests can the frames be used for?
Unconfined compression, triaxial shear and California bearing ratio tests, among other tests that need compression or penetration loading.
