The Tile Abrasion Testing Machine (SKU JA-SAAFT-9878) measures the wear resistance of tiles. The tile sample is pressed under a set load, applied by a counterbalanced lever, against a replaceable grinding path on a disc turning about a vertical axis at 30 ± 1 rpm and strewn evenly with abrasive powder fed through a funnel. After 100 revolutions the opposite parallel face is worn for the same number, and the loss in thickness gives the abrasion resistance. It is supplied by JaincoLab for civil engineering and building materials laboratories.
