The Rocking Microtome Cambridge Type (SKU JA-SI-6585) cuts sections of comparatively soft, wax-embedded tissue from 2 to 24 microns thick, in steps of 2 microns. The thickness is set with a single control on a scale calibrated in 2-micron divisions, and the cutting stroke is made with one lever, so elementary biology and pathology students can use it with little practice. The mechanism has only three moving parts and a lead screw feed.
