Laminar Flow Table
Product Code : JA-FMAHLE-9950
The laminar flow table (SKU JA-FMAHLE-9950) is a floor-standing unit that simulates ideal flow between two glass plates using the Hele-Shaw principle. Sinks and sources in the lower plate, a dye injection system and student-made models let classes see potential flow patterns clearly. It is supplied by JaincoLab with a dye powder starter and instruction manual for flow visualisation teaching in engineering colleges and university laboratories.
Specifications
The laminar flow table has laminated glass plates 606 x 892 mm spaced 3.2 mm apart in a GRP moulding 610 mm wide, eight pre-connected sinks and sources in a cruciform pattern, a viewing graticule, an adjustable knife edge weir and 19 hypodermic dye injectors.

Applications of the laminar flow table
The laminar flow table shows streamlines of ideal two-dimensional flow around models and between sources and sinks, so students can compare what they see with potential flow theory and test their own model shapes.
- Uniform flow past cylinders, aerofoils and student-made models
- Sources, sinks and their combinations in a uniform stream
- Flow through channels and around corners
- Simulating seepage and groundwater flow patterns
- Flow visualisation in undergraduate fluid mechanics teaching
Scope of supply and ordering
The listing covers the floor-standing table with GRP moulding and end tanks, the laminated glass plates with graticule, the sink and source pipework with valves and manifolds, the dye injection system, the knife edge weir, the blue dye powder and the instruction manual. Accessories, spares and quantities are confirmed on the quotation.
MOQ, lead time and packing for the laminar flow table are confirmed on each quotation for the quantity and delivery destination. Single units and orders for new laboratories are supplied, including export to Africa, the Middle East and South and South-East Asia.
Frequently asked questions
How large is the working area?
The top glass plate measures 606 x 892 mm, and the two glass plates are 3.2 mm apart inside a moulding 610 mm wide.
How many sinks and sources are there?
Eight pre-connected sinks/sources are set in a cruciform pattern in the lower glass plate, served by a system of pipes, valves and manifolds.
Can students use their own models?
Yes. The table is designed to accept student-made models placed between the glass plates.
