The direct shear apparatus determines the shear strength of soil specimens, consolidated and drained, undisturbed or remoulded, with a closed-loop motor and epicycloid reducers driving the shear box. It accepts round specimens of 60 and 100 mm diameter and square specimens of 60 x 60 and 100 x 100 mm, and applies up to 5000 N of shear force at speeds from 0.00001 to 9.99999 mm/min (SKU JA-SM-8883).
