Dead Weight Pressure Gauge Calibrator Tester
Product Code : JA-FMAHLE-9932
The dead weight pressure gauge calibrator tester (SKU JA-FMAHLE-9932) is used to calibrate a Bourdon pressure gauge against known pressures. Weights are added to the top of a precision machined piston, which is rotated to reduce friction, so the gauge sees a known pressure and its readings can be plotted as an error curve. It is supplied by JaincoLab for fluid mechanics and measurement laboratories in engineering colleges and polytechnics.
Specifications
The dead weight pressure gauge calibrator has a Bourdon gauge of 0 to 200 kN/m² (kPa) range, a piston of 244.8 mm² area and 0.5 kg mass, and ancillary masses of 0.5 kg, 1.0 kg and 2.5 kg, with the piston and cylinder mounted on levelling screws.

Applications of the dead weight pressure gauge calibrator
The dead weight pressure gauge calibrator lets students apply known pressures, calculated from the masses and the piston area, to a Bourdon gauge and compare them with the gauge readings, the standard practical on pressure gauge calibration and gauge error.
- Calibrating a Bourdon pressure gauge against dead weight pressures
- Drawing the gauge error curve as weights are added and removed
- Calculating pressure from mass and piston area
- Showing how rotating the piston reduces friction effects
- Pressure measurement practicals in fluid mechanics and instrumentation courses
Scope of supply and ordering
The listing covers the piston and cylinder assembly on levelling screws, the Bourdon gauge with inlet and outlet valves and the set of weights (piston 0.5 kg with ancillary masses of 0.5, 1.0 and 2.5 kg). Educational software is an option. Accessories, spares and quantities are confirmed on the quotation.
MOQ, lead time and packing for the dead weight calibrator are confirmed on each quotation for the quantity and delivery destination. Single units and multiple sets for new laboratories are supplied, with export to Africa, the Middle East and South and South-East Asia.
Frequently asked questions
What pressure range does the calibrator cover?
The Bourdon gauge supplied has a range of 0 to 200 kN/m² (kPa).
Which weights are included?
The piston itself has a mass of 0.5 kg, and ancillary masses of 0.5 kg, 1.0 kg and 2.5 kg are supplied.
Why is the piston rotated during a test?
Rotating the piston rod while the weights are on it minimises friction between the piston and cylinder, so the applied pressure stays close to the calculated value.
