Zero Voltage Switching
Product Code : JA-PET-1444
The zero voltage switching trainer is a compact power electronics board for studying zero voltage switching of a thyristor. A transformer supplies low AC voltage to the thyristor and, through two diodes used as a full-wave rectifier, DC voltage to an NPN transistor; a further diode keeps negative voltage off the transistor collector (SKU JA-PET-1444).

Frequently asked questions
What does the zero voltage switching board demonstrate?
The operation of zero voltage switching of a thyristor, which is its listed experiment.
What does the transformer supply?
Low AC voltage to the thyristor and, through two diodes used as a full-wave rectifier, DC voltage to the NPN transistor.
Why is there an extra diode?
It prevents negative voltage from reaching the collector of the NPN transistor.
