The Vertical and Horizontal Condenser (SKU JA-HTLE-9226) lets students compare condensation in a vertical and a horizontal shell-and-tube condenser, operated one at a time. Steam flows through the stainless steel shell and cooling water flows inside the stainless steel tubes; the condensate leaves through steam traps and is collected in a measuring cylinder. This vertical and horizontal condenser trainer has its own stainless steel steam generator with level indicator, pressure gauge and safety valve.

The condenser trainer is specified by two condensers with stainless steel shells of 100 mm inner diameter and 500 mm length, tubes of 12.7 mm OD and 500 mm length, ceramic wool insulation with aluminium foil cladding, a nichrome-heated steam generator and a rotameter, as tabled.
