The Combined Convection and Radiation accessory (SKU JA-HTLE-9207), supplied by JaincoLab, introduces students to heat loss by convection and radiation together from a heated horizontal cylinder. The cylinder sits in a vertical air duct with a fan at its base, so the air flow over it can be varied. This combined convection and radiation apparatus measures air and surface temperatures with K-type thermocouples and the air speed with a vane anemometer in the outlet duct.
Specifications
The combined convection and radiation unit is specified by a 100 W, 24 V DC heater in the cylinder, a variable air flow of 0 to 7 m/s on the computer-controlled version (manual on the other), K-type thermocouples and a vane-type anemometer. The service unit it connects to is quoted separately.
