Sand Pouring Cylinder

The sand pouring cylinder (SKU JA-STE-3409) is used to find the field density of compacted soil by the sand replacement method. Sand of known density is run from the cylinder into a hole dug in the ground, and the mass of sand needed gives the hole volume. It is made by JaincoLab in a small set for fine and medium grained soils and a large set that also covers coarse grained soils.

The small set has a 115 mm internal diameter pouring cylinder, a 100 x 150 mm calibrating container and a 300 mm square tray; the large set has a 215 mm cylinder, a 200 x 250 mm calibrating container and a 450 mm square tray.
