Pressure Losses in Pipes
Product Code : JA-FMAHLE-10021
The pressure losses in pipes trainer (SKU JA-FMAHLE-10021) is a closed water circuit for investigating pressure losses in long pipe sections, bends, contractions, enlargements and valves. A submersible pump in a stainless steel tank feeds copper and steel test sections with up to eight pressure measuring points. It is supplied by JaincoLab for pipe flow practicals in engineering colleges, polytechnics and TVET institutes.
Specifications
The pressure losses in pipes trainer has a 110 litre stainless steel tank, a 0.45 kW pump giving up to 4.8 m³/h and 22.6 m head, three straight pipe sections of 2.5 m measuring length, a 20 litre volumetric tank and a rotameter.

Experiments on the pressure losses in pipes trainer
The pressure losses in pipes trainer lets students measure the pressure curve along long copper and steel pipes, find friction factors, and compare the losses caused by bends, sudden section changes and needle, shut-off and ball valves at different flow rates.
- Pressure curve along a measuring section with up to eight points
- Friction losses in copper and steel pipes of different diameters
- Losses in pipe bends and at sudden contraction and enlargement
- Opening characteristics of needle, shut-off and ball valves
- Flow measurement with rotameter and volumetric tank
