The Plummet Balance (SKU JA-ST-9821) measures the specific gravity of a soil suspension during sedimentation analysis. The balance travels up and down a vertical rod on a heavy levelling base by rack and pinion, and a light pointer on steel pivots in jewelled bearings reads the plummet on a 0-100% scale in 2% divisions. It is supplied with a perspex plummet, a measuring jar, two rider weights and a chart for solving Stokes' equation.
