Nozzle Pressure Distribution
Product Code : JA-FMAHLE-10016
The nozzle pressure distribution unit (SKU JA-FMAHLE-10016) shows the pressure distribution in the actual flow of a compressible fluid through three brass nozzles: a convergent nozzle and short and long de Laval nozzles, each with pressure measuring points. Compressed air is set by a regulator and back pressure by a needle valve. It is supplied by JaincoLab for gas dynamics and thermodynamics practicals in engineering colleges.
Specifications
The nozzle pressure distribution unit runs on compressed air at up to 10 bar with a control range of 0 to 8.6 bar and an air consumption of about 5 g/s, and has a manometer, digital temperature displays upstream and downstream of the nozzle and a rotameter.

Experiments on the nozzle pressure distribution unit
The nozzle pressure distribution unit lets students measure the pressure along convergent and de Laval nozzles at different inlet and back pressures, observe choking and the pressure pattern of supersonic expansion, and compare the results with isentropic nozzle theory.
- Pressure distribution along a convergent nozzle
- Pressure distribution in short and long de Laval nozzles
- Effect of back pressure on nozzle flow
- Critical pressure ratio and choked flow
- Gas dynamics and thermodynamics practicals for mechanical and aeronautical engineering students
Scope of supply and ordering
The listing covers the experimental unit with the three brass nozzles, compressed air regulator, needle valve, manometer, temperature displays and rotameter. A compressed air supply of up to 10 bar is needed and is not part of the product data. Accessories, spares and quantities are confirmed on the quotation.
MOQ, lead time and packing for the nozzle pressure distribution unit are confirmed on each quotation for the quantity and delivery destination. Single units and orders for new thermal and fluids laboratories are supplied, including export to Africa, the Middle East and South and South-East Asia.
Frequently asked questions
Which nozzles are supplied?
Three brass nozzles with pressure measuring points: one convergent nozzle and two de Laval nozzles, one with a short and one with a long extension.
What compressed air supply is needed?
Compressed air at a maximum of 10 bar; the air consumption of the unit is about 5 g/s.
How are temperature and flow measured?
Digital temperature displays read upstream and downstream of the nozzle, and a rotameter shows the flow.
