Gas Cyclone
Product Code : JA-AM-6484
The Gas Cyclone unit (SKU JA-AM-6484) is a demonstration and test unit for separating solid particles from a gas in a cyclone, the low-maintenance pre-filter with no moving parts that also suits high gas temperatures. A disperser spreads the feed material, quartz powder being recommended, into the air flow, which enters the cyclone tangentially at the top, spirals down as a primary vortex, reverses and rises as a secondary vortex to the immersion tube. It is supplied by JaincoLab for chemical and mechanical process engineering laboratories.
Specifications
The unit comprises a gas cyclone with tangential inlet and immersion tube and a disperser for the feed material; cyclone dimensions, air flow range and fan are not listed in the product data and are confirmed on the quotation.

Experiments with the gas cyclone unit
Students feed a known mass of powder into the air stream, collect what the cyclone separates and calculate the separation efficiency at different air flows.
- Separation of solids from gases in a cyclone
- Cyclone separation efficiency
- Effect of gas flow rate on separation
- Primary and secondary vortex flow patterns
- Mechanical operations and air pollution control practicals
Scope of supply and ordering
This listing covers the gas cyclone unit with cyclone and disperser as described. Accessories, spares and quantities are confirmed on the quotation. Feed material, air supply and fan details are confirmed on the quotation.
MOQ, lead time and packing for the Gas Cyclone are confirmed on each quotation for the quantity and delivery destination. Single units for one laboratory and complete sets for institutions or projects are both supplied.
Frequently asked questions
Why use a gas cyclone?
It pre-filters solids from gases, has no moving parts, needs little maintenance and suits high gas temperatures.
What feed material is recommended?
Quartz powder, dispersed into the air flow.
How does the gas move in the cyclone?
Down as a rotating primary vortex, then back up as a secondary vortex to the immersion tube.
