The Experimental Flume (SKU JA-FMAHLE-9981) is an open channel flume for demonstrating the basic principles of open channel flow and testing models from hydraulic engineering. It has a 2.5 m experimental section with tempered glass side walls, a flow-optimised inlet and its own closed water circuit. Applications of the experimental flume
The experimental flume is used to study uniform and non-uniform open channel flow and the behaviour of weirs, gates and other hydraulic structures fitted in the glass-walled section, with flow rate and slope set by the operator, in civil engineering hydraulics practicals.
