DC To AC Inverter
Product Code : JA-PET-1446
The DC to AC inverter trainer shows how a multivibrator circuit converts a 12 V battery supply into AC that lights a 40 W, 230 V lamp. Two ICs generate the AC drive signals, and four low-power and four high-power NPN transistors and a 12-0-12 V, 4 A transformer are built in; colour-coded test points show how the wave shape changes from DC to AC (SKU JA-PET-1446).

Frequently asked questions
What battery does the inverter need?
A 12 V, 80 Ah battery; any car battery can be used.
What load does the inverter drive?
A 40 W, 230 V lamp in a lamp holder on the board.
How are the waveforms checked?
Through the red, black and green test-point terminals, which show the wave shape and pulse amplitude as DC is changed to AC; a dual trace oscilloscope is used.
