DV and DT Limitation Of SCRS
Product Code : JA-PET-1416
The dv/dt limitation of SCRs trainer is a power electronics board for studying how fast the voltage across an SCR can rise before it turns on unintentionally, and how that limit can be raised. A built-in 300 V DC supply and a thyristor switch apply a sudden voltage to the SCR under test, while gate-cathode terminations, biasing, a transistorised snubber and two R-C snubber schemes show their effect. A visual indicator shows when the SCR fires (SKU JA-PET-1416).

Frequently asked questions
What does the dv/dt trainer demonstrate?
How quickly the voltage across an SCR can rise before it turns on unintentionally, and how terminations, biasing and snubbers raise that limit.
How is the sudden voltage applied to the SCR?
A thyristor switch connects the built-in 300 V DC supply suddenly across the SCR under test.
Which snubber circuits are included?
A transistorised snubber and two R-C snubber schemes.
