Resistance Box Constantan & Manganin

The Resistance Box Constantan and Manganin (SKU JA-SI-8096) is a dial-type decade resistance box. Each decade uses an eleven-position switch designed for low contact resistance, with moving contacts of phosphor-bronze lamination for repeatable readings. The coils are wound non-inductively, varnished and aged so the values hold over time, and the bakelite panel is enclosed in a polished teak wood box.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Grade A and Grade B boxes?
Grade A boxes are wound with manganin wire and Grade B boxes with constantan wire.
Why is manganin used in the Grade A box?
Manganin has a negligible temperature coefficient of resistance, so the coil values change very little with temperature.
