The Hand and Table Microtome (SKU JA-SI-6583) is the basic form of microtome for cutting thin sections of plant and animal material by hand. A fixing clamp holds it to the edge of a bench or table. The section platform has a wide, flat glass surface that guides the razor and protects the hand, and a fine, long-threaded feed screw raises the embedded material a little at a time for thin sections.
