Frequency Wein Bridge
Product Code : JA-SI-8071
The Frequency Wein Bridge (SKU JA-SI-8071) is a Wien bridge arranged to measure the frequency of an AC signal. At balance the frequency depends on the resistance and capacitance in two arms, so R1 and R2 are mechanically coupled on dials of x10, x100 and x1000 ohm and set together, while C1 and C2 are decade dials of 0.1 mfd. The ratio arms are R3, with steps of 1, 10, 100 and 1000, and R4, with 2, 20, 200 and 2000. A digital null detector is built in, and connections are at 4 mm sockets.

Experiments on the frequency bridge
- Measuring the frequency of an AC signal applied to the bridge
- Studying the Wien bridge balance condition
- Checking the output frequency of an audio oscillator
Scope of supply and ordering
The signal to be measured comes from an external oscillator, which is quoted separately if required. Quantities and packing are confirmed on the quotation.
Frequently asked questions
Why are R1 and R2 mechanically coupled?
So both arms change together, as the Wien bridge balance for frequency needs equal values.
What ratio dials are fitted?
R3 with 1, 10, 100 and 1000, and R4 with 2, 20, 200 and 2000.
Does it include a detector?
Yes, a null detector with digital display is built in; a small speaker can replace it.
