Faraday Pails

Faraday Pails (product code JA-EE-7658) are a set of four cylindrical aluminium containers that nest inside one another, each standing on insulating feet. Faraday pails are used with an electroscope to show that charge on a hollow conductor resides on its outer surface, and to measure charge by lowering a charged object into the pail without touching it. The four sizes, from 75 mm to 150 mm in diameter, also allow shielding demonstrations for school and college physics.
