Direct Vision Spectroscope

The Direct Vision Spectroscope (SKU JA-ELA-5463) is a compact hand spectroscope made by JaincoLab for observing visible light from 400 to 750 nm. A three-element prism disperses the light into a well-defined spectrum, and the amount of light admitted is set by a variable slit adjusted with a knurled ring. It is used for flame tests of basic radicals such as sodium, strontium, potassium and copper, and it comes in a velvet case.
Specifications
The spectroscope is offered without a wavelength scale, or with a scale for direct reading of wavelength; on the scale version a graticule index at 590 nm, the sodium line, can be calibrated against a known source.
