The Copper Volta meter (product code JA-EE-7647) is a copper voltameter for electrolysis practicals. Three rectangular copper electrodes are mounted under an insulated bakelite lid that sits on the electrolyte container, so the plates hang in copper sulphate solution at a fixed spacing. When current passes, copper leaves one plate and is deposited on another, and weighing the plates before and after lets students find the electrochemical equivalent of copper.
