Bacteriological Test Vials (SKU JA-ELA-5422) are sterilised vials supplied by JaincoLab with the test medium already incorporated, for a simple presence/absence test for bacterial contamination of drinking water. The method goes back to a field test first reported in 1982 for detecting faecal contamination without a microbiology laboratory, so the vials can be used in the field by staff with little training. They show only presence or absence and are not for medical purposes.
