The Student Spirometer (SKU JA-MI-4885) is a 6 litre spirometer used in physiology practicals to measure vital capacity. It is complete with a corrugated tube, a mouthpiece and a recording lever. The float is counterbalanced by a chain or plastic thread over a pulley calibrated to show volume, and the unit has inlet and outlet tubes, a side cock for gases and a cock for draining off water, so it can also be used as a gas meter. It is supplied by JaincoLab for medical, nursing and biology teaching laboratories.
