The Stereoscopic Microscope (SKU JA-M-884) is a binocular stereo microscope giving 20x and 40x with a flat field, for viewing whole specimens in three dimensions. Its 45-degree head rotates through 360 degrees with adjustable interpupillary distance, two pairs of 2x and 4x objectives change by turning the nosepiece through 90 degrees, and an integral illuminator with two lamps gives transmitted and incident light. Applications of the stereoscopic microscope
Students use incident light for opaque objects such as insects, seeds, rocks and dissections, and transmitted light for thin or translucent specimens, switching between 20x and 40x with a quarter turn of the nosepiece.
