RNA Model
Product Code : JL-LE-11452
The RNA Model (SKU JL-LE-11452, Cat. No. JSS-023/060) shows how DNA, messenger RNA and transfer RNA work together to produce a chain of amino acids. Students build it from 12 DNA bases, 12 mRNA bases, 12 tRNA bases, four amino acids and six moulded rubber strands that stand for the phosphate backbone, all mounting on a wooden frame. It is easy to assemble, and it comes with a leatherette carrying and storage case and an illustrated instruction manual.

Topics taught with the RNA model
The parts let a teacher walk through each stage of gene expression in class:
- Transcription: pairing mRNA bases against a DNA template strand
- Translation: matching tRNA bases to the codons on the mRNA
- Showing how three bases code for one amino acid, using the four amino acid pieces
- Class 12 biology and B.Sc molecular biology lessons on the molecular basis of inheritance
