Mathematical Pendulum Demonstration Apparatus
Product Code : JL-GLE-11266
The Mathematical Pendulum Demonstration Apparatus, SKU JL-GLE-11266, is a JaincoLab simple pendulum apparatus for timing oscillations. A 25 mm sphere hangs on a thread from a 500 x 10 mm square mild steel rod standing in a 200 x 125 mm mild steel base. Students set the length with the 50 cm ruler, time the swings with the digital stopwatch, relate period to length and from that estimate the acceleration due to gravity.

Pendulum experiments
Investigations with the apparatus:
- How the period depends on the length of the thread
- Showing that the period does not depend on the amplitude for small swings
- Estimating g from a graph of period squared against length
- Comparing the periods of short and long pendulums measured against the 50 cm ruler
Scope of supply and ordering
