The Maglev train (SKU SCL-MLI-12528) is a working model for demonstrating magnetic levitation, electromagnetism and low-voltage power conversion. A lightweight EVA-foam train with small ring magnets underneath runs over an electromagnetic guideway built from 80 metal rods, each 2 in long, with copper-wire coils, copper conductor strips and transparent guide strips. A fully enclosed power section takes 220 V AC and uses a 12-0-12 step-down transformer, rectifier and filter circuit to supply 12 V DC.
