This kit (SKU JL-GLE-10457) is made up by JaincoLab to demonstrate that germinating seeds give off carbon dioxide and produce heat. Air drawn through the set-up by the aspiration pump passes into baryta water (barium hydroxide solution), which turns cloudy with carbon dioxide, while the thermometer in the three-neck flask records the temperature of the seeds.
