Intermediate Spectrometer

The Intermediate Spectrometer (SKU JA-ELA-5464) is made by JaincoLab for optics practicals in which angles of refraction, deviation and diffraction must be measured precisely. It stands on a cast iron base with levelling screws and bright plated fittings, and its protected circle, with brass and stainless steel scales, is read by two opposite verniers. The telescope has a Ramsden eyepiece with cross wire and works with the collimator; sizes from 15 to 17.5 cm are offered.

Experiments with the spectrometer
Readings from the two opposite verniers are averaged, which cancels the error that arises if the circle is not exactly centred on the axis of rotation.
