The Hydrocarbon Set (SKU JA-GE-7280) is a set of 12 samples in a lidded tray that shows how oil and coal form and are trapped. It includes a source rock (Kimmeridge oil shale), reservoir rocks (sandstone, oolitic limestone and chalk), cap rocks (shale, gypsum and clay or marl), oil tar sand with crude oil, and the coal series from peat through lignite and bituminous coal to anthracite.
