The Human Urinary Electronic System (SKU JL-LE-11485, Cat. No. JSS-231/074) is a portable electronic model that shows how urine is formed in a nephron. Red tubes trace the blood path from the afferent arteriole through the glomerular capillary bundle and efferent arteriole to the surrounding capillary network, and yellow tubes trace the renal capsule, proximal convoluted tubule, nephron loop, distal convoluted tubule and collecting tubule. Moving red and blue lights show the blood, while yellow lights run into the capsule to show water and small molecules filtered from the plasma by the glomerulus. The light speed can be adjusted.
