The Hoffman Voltameter (PTFE) with electrodes (SKU JA-LE-6855) is used to decompose water by electrolysis, determine its composition from the gas volumes and find the electrochemical equivalent of hydrogen. The glass unit has two connected limbs of about 50 ml each, graduated 2 to 50 ml, with a stopcock at the top of each limb and an integral reservoir tube with funnel-shaped bulb. It comes with 2 carbon and 2 platinum electrodes in a protective packing case. This Hoffman voltameter is made by JaincoLab.
Specifications
The voltameter is set up vertically on a clamp and stand and connected to a 12 V DC supply. Electrolytes named in the source are water with molar sodium or potassium sulphate, or sulphuric acid.
