The outside is a globe at least 12 inches across showing countries and oceans; one quarter detaches to reveal the internal layers, permanently marked as Crust, Mantle, Outer Core and Lower Core. This earth internal structure model is plastic, on a hard plastic base stand, and its removable part stays secure when fitted.
