Digital to Analog D and A Converter using Weighted Register Network
Product Code : JA-DEECP-1197
The Digital to Analog D and A Converter using Weighted Register Network apparatus (SKU JA-DEECP-1197) converts a 4-bit input into an analog voltage with a binary-weighted resistor network, in which each bit drives a resistor half the value of the one before. Four SPDT switches set logic 1 or 0, the output voltage is read on a built-in voltmeter, and regulated supplies of 5 V and +15 V, each 150 mA, are fitted. The circuit is printed on the front panel with connections at sockets.

Frequently asked questions
How many input bits does the weighted resistor DAC take?
Four, set with four SPDT switches.
How does it compare with the R-2R version?
The weighted network uses a different resistor value for each bit; the R-2R ladder uses only two values.
