The COD Digestion Apparatus (SKU JA-ELA-5485) is a solid-state block heater made by JaincoLab for digesting water and wastewater samples in the determination of chemical oxygen demand. It takes 15 samples at a time in 38 mm diameter glass reaction vessels, each holding a 20 ml sample, and holds them at 150 °C ± 1 °C under a digital temperature indicator-cum-controller.

Applications of the COD digestion apparatus
In the COD test each sample is digested with a strong oxidising agent at 150 °C, and the oxidant consumed gives the oxygen demand; the heating block holds all 15 vessels at the same set temperature so their results can be compared.
