The Black Streak Plates (SKU JA-GE-7463) are 25 x 50 mm tiles of unglazed black porcelain for streak testing minerals. Rubbing a mineral across the rough surface leaves a line of powder, and the colour of that powder, the streak, is a reliable identification clue even when the specimen's surface colour varies. The black plate shows up pale streaks well. They are supplied by JaincoLab.
