The Barnstead Type Water Still (SKU JA-ELA-5495) is a table-top distillation unit supplied by JaincoLab for producing distilled water in laboratories. The complete unit is stainless steel with argon-welded joints, heated by a kettle-type immersion heater, and has a water level and drain facility. The condenser opens at a heavy-gauge, top-mounted stainless steel flange, so it can be taken apart for periodic cleaning. Water boiled by the immersion heater rises as steam into the condenser, where it is cooled and collected as distillate, leaving dissolved salts behind in the boiler.
