The Respirometer (SKU JC-AE-6714) is a compact respirometer for comparing the rates at which small organisms take up or give off gases during respiration. Two stoppered boiling tubes are joined by three-way taps to either limb of a graduated manometer: one holds the organisms and the other acts as a control thermo-barometer. Carbon dioxide released is absorbed by potassium hydroxide, so the manometer level shows oxygen uptake. JaincoLab manufactures it in Ambala, India.
