The prismatic compass (SKU JA-MI-3410) measures the magnetic bearings of survey lines, with the reading taken through a prism at the same moment as the sight. A strongly magnetised needle on a hard steel pivot carries an aluminium circle graduated to 30 minutes, housed in a brass or aluminium box of 100 or 125 mm diameter.
