The Potometer (SKU JA-ELA-5401) is a glass apparatus on a wooden stand, made by JaincoLab, for measuring transpiration in plant leaves. A cut shoot is sealed into a stopper at one end, the apparatus is filled with water, and the open end of the horizontal capillary dips into a beaker of water. As the shoot draws water, the movement along the capillary, graduated in millimetres, shows the rate of uptake.
