The Nichrome Wire (SKU JL-LEP-10243) is used as a wire loop and heating element on which a metal salt or solid ionic compound is made to adhere for a flame test. As nichrome wire for flame test work it is Ni80 Cr20 alloy, 26 AWG and 0.4 mm in diameter, soft, annealed and rust-free, so it can be bent into a small loop, cleaned and reused. Its resistance of 2.57 ohms per foot also suits heating-effect activities. The 100 ft spool is supplied by JaincoLab as per DepEd guidelines.
