The National Grid Kit (SKU JA-EE-7456) shows students why electricity is transmitted at high voltage. Supplied by JaincoLab, this national grid demonstration kit sends power from a transmit box to a receive box through insulated resistance wires, and the same wires can be connected to either the high-voltage or the low-voltage system so that the brightness of two mounted SBC lamps, and the energy lost on the way, can be compared directly.

Applications of the national grid demonstration kit
Teachers use the kit to show that sending power at a higher voltage reduces the energy wasted as heat in the lines, by comparing lamp brightness at the receiving end when the resistance wires are connected to the low-voltage and to the high-voltage system.
