The Micro Plate Micro Centrifuge (SKU JA-LE-8220) is a mini plate centrifuge with a swing-out rotor that holds two microplates on a footprint of about 9 x 10 inches. When the lid closes, the rotor speeds up and the plate carriers swing from 75 degrees to horizontal, so droplets on the well walls collect at the bottom. At over 400 xg most samples spin down in under 20 seconds. It is supplied by JaincoLab.

Why plates are spun before PCR
The plate centrifuge is used for:
- Bringing all reactants to the bottom of the wells before PCR, for correct concentrations
- Spinning down microplates without sealing tapes or caps, since the plates swing flat
- Short spin-downs of PCR strips
