The meter bridge and pencil jockey (SKU JC-SL-4645) is a four-gap metre bridge for resistance experiments in school and college physics. A 24 SWG constantan wire is stretched and clamped along the top of a wooden metre scale, beside a heavy copper strip on a thick laminated base. Brass end strips keep end errors negligible, and the bridge is supplied with a pencil jockey, connecting lead and a working manual.

Experiments with the meter bridge
The meter bridge applies the Wheatstone bridge principle, so its main use is finding an unknown resistance by locating the balance point with the jockey.
