L. Moulds (Brass) (SKU JA-ELA-5492) are paired L-shaped embedding moulds made by JaincoLab for casting paraffin blocks in histology and microtomy. Two L pieces laid together on a flat plate form a rectangular frame; by sliding them against each other the frame can be set to different block sizes, so one pair serves for small and larger tissue pieces. Brass conducts heat well, which helps the paraffin set evenly.

How the moulds are used
- The paired L pieces are placed on a flat plate to form a frame of the required size
- Molten paraffin is poured in and the processed tissue is oriented in it
- When the paraffin has set, the L pieces are separated and the block is trimmed for the microtome
